Former Ridgewood Wrestler Sam Fetsis stopped by Ridgewood's wrestling meet on January 25, 2007. Coach Sam Wasserstrom mentioned how the wrestlers have changed since he was wrestling here. Then Fetsis reminded Wasserstrom of a quote that Wasserstrom kept in his locker! It amazing that he would remember that quote after 13 or 14 years.
The quote was:
"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for
Authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place
of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their
households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They
contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties
at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.

April 13, 2010 - Attention all wrestlers
There will be a brief meeting on Thursday, April 15th. We will discuss plans for
off-season wrestling. Meet in Room 138, Coach McCabe's room.
March 4, 2010 - Fresh/soph wrestling
Congratulations to the following wrestlers who qualified for the fresh/soph sectional
tournament. At 103lbs Dylan Kaczmarczyk, 108lbs Joe Perez, 130lbs Alex Sanchez, 130lbs
Jon Garcia, 140lbs Donato DiGiulio, and 145lbs P.J. O'Connor. Sectionals will be this
Sunday at Proviso East High School. Good Luck guys.
February 12, 2010 - Ridgewood Wrestling
Congratulations to Alex Sanchez. He was voted all-conference at the freshman
level at 125 pounds. Great job and keep up the hard work.

The Ridgewood Wrestling Coaches and wrestlers would like to thank the
following stat girls, Amy Fogarty, Cori Hilton, Bri Gentile, and Jessica
Feberova. Your time and dedication is well appreciated.
Congratulations to the following wrestlers who took third place at the
regional tournament at Fenton High School. At 130 pounds Jon Garcia, 135
pounds Nick Samariniotis, and 140 pounds Donato DiGiulio.
February 3, 2010 - Ridgewood Wrestling
Congratulations to Conference Champ Donato DiGiulio. His hard work payed off
as he placed first in the conference at 145 pounds.
January 20, 2010 - Ridgewood Wrestling
Congratulations to the following wrestlers who placed in the top six at the
Reed Custer 16 team tournament this past weekend: At 112 pounds, Joe Perez
placed 6th, and at 140 pounds Donato DiGiulio placed 2nd. Keep up the good
work.
December 14, 2009 - Ridgewood Wrestling
Coach Jared McCabes' ever-improving squad saw 8 wrestlers awarded medals in
The Walther Lutheran tournament this past Saturday. Freshman Dylan Kaczmarczek
captured 2nd place at 103 pounds, Freshman Joe Perez 3rd place at 112 pounds,
Sophomore Henry Meyers 3rd place at 119 pounds, Junior Nico Serritella 3rd
place at 125 pounds, Freshman John Garcia 4th place at 130 pounds, Junior Nick
Samariniotis 3rd place at 135 pounds, Sophomore Donato Duguilio 4th place at
140 pounds and Senior Julian DiVito 5th place at 171 pounds. The Rebels came
in 6th place out of 13 in the team standings. Great job. Our next wrestling
meet is at Ridgewood this Thursday against Marshall and Elmwood Park High
Schools.
December 7, 2009 - Ridgewood Wrestling
Congratulations to the Ridgewood wrestling team who picked up two victories
on Friday night. They defeated Mather High School and Amundson. Great job
guys, and keep working hard.
November 30, 2009 - Ridgewood Wrestling
Congratulations to the varsity wrestling team who placed fifth overall at the
Gator Guerin Classic 12 team tournament this weekend. The following
wrestlers took 3rd place at their respected weight classes; Dylan K., Joe
Perez, Henry Meyers, Nick Samarionotis, Donato DiGiulio. Fourth place
finishers were Nico Serritella, and P.J. O'Connor. Great Job Guys!
