The G.A.M.E. Team (Goal Setting and Mentor Educators) met with students in the Freshmen Learning Skills class. Mentors from all walks of life assisted students with setting realistic academic goals. Here are some photos from a very successful day of mentoring and goalsetting.

The Learning Skills course was created to address perceived academic deficiencies in Ridgewood students. Because students entering Ridgewood have varied educational backgrounds, this course has been created to establish a skill base which will assist students in being successful at Ridgewood. The Learning Skills course will be cross-curricular in nature providing students with the tools they need for future success.

Learning Skills is a course designed to help students in their transition to high school and in developing important habits for future success. It concentrates on the following skills: study skills, time management, balancing school with other responsibilities, goal setting, Rebel Respect, and service learning.

General Goals:

1. Create a common base of skills which all Freshmen will possess.
2. Develop competency in basic learning skills so that students can more effectively meet goals in both academic settings and personal growth.
3. Enable students to be more effective learners and provide them with the tools they need to lead successful lives.
