There are only 2 weeks left to nominate a book for next year's ABE Award. In order to nominate a book, please fill out a yellow nomination form and return it to the library. Place forms in the ABE box located on the circulation desk. Forms must be received by Monday, October 13th. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Gonzalez.

Senior Flag Football Practice Tuesday Morning
The defending champions, class of ’09 senior flag football players will be holding their one and only practice on Tuesday morning at 7:15 AM in the gym. You can come in your regular school clothes – you do not need to dress in athletic gear to practice. However, you do need your parent permission form to practice. Pick up forms from Gates in Room 235. IF YOU DO NOT COME TO THE PRACTICE, YOU WILL NOT PLAY IN THE GAMES! Please, please, someone wake up and bring Vitale.

Study Hall Pass to the Library
Remember, you must sign up in the library and receive a pass in order to work in the library during study hall. You MUST come for a pass before the start of the study hall periods. At the end of period 3, passes will no longer be given for that day.

In the hallways during passing time, and on 89.7 FM WRHS Norridge, there is a new radio station. It is "The 50s Channel," playing the 1950s... and nothing but the 1950s. Looking for "Jack Frost" holiday music? Tune your radio at 88.1 FM WXMS Harwood Heights.

Blue bins are for paper only!
Ridgewood High does recycle its disposed of paper, but needs your help. Blue bins need to be used for only paper. Any non-recyclable items contaminate the blue cans and makes its contents unable to be recycled.

Remember, blue for paper, black for waste. Help make Ridgewood an environmental place.

Juniors and Seniors
Now is the time to start visiting colleges you might want to attend.

It is important to visit colleges that you might be interested in attending. Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, and University of Illinois at Chicago are all having an open house on Monday, October 13th. This is a perfect day to visit a college campus since Ridgewood has the day off. For more information on college visits please see your counselor.
