It’s time to announce our ABE Readers of the Week. This week’s lucky winners are Jonathan Ligas and Alina Tolsik. Friday's Word of the Day!
Chromosome. A noun. Any of several threadlike bodies, consisting of chromatin, that carry the genes in a linear order: the human species has 23 pairs, designated 1 to 22 in order of decreasing size and X and Y for the female and male sex chromosomes respectively. The idea that a chromosome contains information that instructs my body what to be and how to function still amazes me.

This summer the library will be getting a makeover and we need your help. Please complete the library design survey located on the Ridgewood home page or the Library's home page to provide input on how you want the the new and improved library to look.

Nominate a book for next year’s ABE Award
Have you a read a great book lately and want others to read it? Then nominate it for next year’s ABE Award.

In order to nominate a book, please fill out a yellow nomination form and return it to the library. Place forms in the blue ABE box located on the circulation desk.

There a few criteria that the books have to meet. The most important is that the book has to have been published in the past 5 years and come in paperback form. But don’t worry; Ms. Gonzalez will check all the books nominated. All you have to do is fill out the form. Forms must be received by Monday, October 13th.
