A busy week for Multimedia Broadcast Club
WRHS Television will be recording three, yes, THREE television programs this week in the TV Studio, Room 152. Be there Tuesday at 3:05 PM for part 2 of the 2008 10th Annual WRHS Excellence Awards. Then Wednesday at 8:05 AM is the last Wednesday late start taping of Local Legends/The World As We See It. Finally, Thursday at 3:05 PM we tape the Jazz-Rock Band perform the Pops concert on The Music Edge.

Fire Safety Script for Children's Show
The Norwood Park Fire Protection District is looking for a Ridgewood student or students to assist them in writing a script about fire safety for the children's show Just Kidding Around. See Mr. Szaflik for details.

It’s time to laugh out loud, Ridgewood, you deserve it. Join the crowds tonight or tomorrow at 7:00 PM in Room 105, the Frances Bernero Auditorium for Arsenic and Old Lace. A comedy about two elderly woman, an eccentric man who believes he is Teddy Roosevelt, a sadistic murderer, Dr. Einstein, cops and many, many other wacky characters. If you be not of the house of tragedy, come and crush a cup of comedy tonight! Tickets are available at the door for only $3 for students and FREE to faculty and staff.

Boys Golf
Anyone interested in playing golf next year should pick up a "Sports Physical" form in the athletic office and plan to attend an organizational meeting MONDAY, May 12th at 3:05 PM in ROOM 149.

Announcements during AP Testing
On Thursday, Friday, and Tuesday, the AP Exam will be given. The audio daily announcements will be pre-empted. Teachers can tune their TVs to WRWX Channel 4 for the scrolling daily announcements or read them from eSchool+ if they wish. Students can read the announcements on our website.

National HIV Testing Day is June 27th on WRHS Television 19
Did you know that 22% of the people in South Africa are currently living with HIV/AIDS? That's 5.3 million people. Do your part to help those suffering from HIV/AIDS or living in extreme poverty. Buy a white "ONE" wristband for $1.00. The ONE campaign works to fight global AIDS and poverty. Wristbands can be purchased from the substitute of Ms. Cantos in Room 234 before or after school. Variety Show Needs Your Talent!
There’s nothing better than wrapping up our school year with showcasing the talent of Ridgewood students, faculty and the community. We need you to participate in this year’s Variety Show on May 16th with Mr. Gates as this year’s emcee. Applications are available now in the library or see Mr. Smith for more details. If you can sing, play an instrument, juggle live animals, demonstrate the evolution of dance, perform sock puppet opera then you definitely need to be a part of this year’s v-show. If you have a special talent or would just like to show everyone what you can do, sign up today. Prizes for the top acts will be made available!

Attention all Athletes: The 2008-2009 Sports Physicals are being given here at Ridgewood on May 22, 2008 right after school. The cost for this physical is $25.00. This may save time and money for your parents rather than taking you to your doctor. Please stop by the Athletic/Attendance Office, Room 141 and pick up the forms.
