May 8th will be our final meeting for the year. We will announce awards to be given at the awards ceremony, collect calculators, plan next year, and EAT PIZZA. The meeting will be held in the teacher's cafe, Room 119, at 3:15 PM.

Fun fact of the day
In 1907, President Theodore Roosevelt of the United States, appointed General Goethals as the Chief Engineer of the Panama Canal. The canal was open for business, two years ahead of schedule, on August 15, 1914. You can see history come to life this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:00 PM in Room 105, the Frances Bernero Auditorium, when someone who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt, believes he’s digging the Panama Canal in his basement – only that the canals sometimes have to be used for the victims of yellow fever that seems to be spreading through this unassuming quiet house in Brooklyn. Student tickets are only $3 and faculty and staff are FREE for the comedy Arsenic and Old Lace.

Variety Show Needs Your Talent!
There’s nothing better than wrapping up our school year with showcasing the talent of Ridgewood students, faculty and the community. We need you to participate in this year’s Variety Show on May 16th with Mr. Gates as this year’s emcee. Applications are available now in the library or see Mr. Smith for more details. If you can sing, play an instrument, juggle live animals, demonstrate the evolution of dance, perform sock puppet opera then you definitely need to be a part of this year’s v-show. If you have a special talent or would just like to show everyone what you can do, sign up today. Prizes for the top acts will be made available!

Attention all Athletes: The 2008-2009 Sports Physicals are being given here at Ridgewood on May 22, 2008 right after school. The cost for this physical is $25.00. This may save time and money for your parents rather than taking you to your doctor. Please stop by the Athletic/Attendance Office, Room 141 and pick up the forms.

RHS alumni comic book artist, Jen Brazas, will be visiting Ridgewood on Thursday, May 8th in Room 120 at 3:15 PM. She will talk with students about the comic book industry, her comic books and graphic novel and how she got started. All interested students are invited to attend.
